How far in advance should I place an order?
I recommend submitting a cookie inquiry as early as possible. Customers typically book 2 – 3 months in advance of the date of their event. Depending on my availability and the size of your order, I may be able to take orders with a 3-week or less notice.
A additional 25% fee of your total will be added all orders placed and/or confirmed with less than a 3-week notice. Orders are confirmed when your invoice has been paid in full.

What happens after I submit a cookie inquiry?
You will receive an email from me with within 3 days of submitting a cookie inquiry. I will send an email notification on whether your inquiry was accepted or declined. Please be on the lookout for an email from me - please check your spam folder in case my emails get delivered there. Your order will be cancelled if I do not receive a response from you within 72 hours of responding to your inquiry.
If your order is accepted, I will reach out to you through email with more information on next steps.
Do you require a deposit?
I do not require a deposit. However, in order to secure your order date on my calendar your invoice must be paid in full. Orders should be paid within 48 hours of receiving the invoice. Orders will be cancelled if invoices are not paid within 72 hours. If you have concerns about this, please chat with me!
Can you accommodate a rush order?
I may be able to accommodate a rush order based on my available. When in doubt, submit a cookie inquiry and I can let you know. All rush orders placed or confirmed with less than a 3-week notice will result in an additional 25% fee of your total.
What is the difference between a placed order and confirmed order?
A placed order is when you have submitted a cookie order inquiry and are awaiting a response from me if I am able to complete your order. Orders placed with less than 3-week notice will incur a 25% rush fee.
A confirmed order is when I have accepted your order and your order has been paid in full. If your order is confirmed within the 3-week notice window, your order is subject to the 25% rush fee.
Do you deliver?
Orders can be delivered within a 40-mile radius of Saint Michael, MN between Friday - Sunday for an additional fee. We are occasionally able to offer pick-up in St. Paul. Please message us if pick-up is available in St. Paul. Delivery rates are:
0 - 4.99 Miles: $20
5 - 14.99 Miles: $30
15 - 29.99 Miles: $50
30 - 40 Miles: $70
There is no fee for pick-up orders (Pick-up location is Saint Michael, MN).
Do you ship your cookies?
I cannot ship my cookies according to Minnesota Cottage Food Laws.
What flavor sugar cookies do you offer?
My signature cookie and royal icing flavor is vanilla bean. I do also offer a vanilla sprinkle sugar cookie, if requested.
I use vanilla bean paste in my cookies and icing. You will notice brown specs of vanilla bean in the finished product, this is completely normal.
Do you offer any gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan, or sugar free cookies?
I do not offer any gluten free, dairy free, vegan or sugar free cookie options. Please note, these cookies are not allergen-free.
Can I see the cookie designs before you make them?
Included in each cookie order is a digital sketch for each cookie design that I can share with you. Receiving a copy of the digital design is optional. I sketch and design each cookie concept for each customer. If you wish to see the digital design concept, I can email you a copy to review.
Important Note: I try as much as possible to work with the approved cookie design. However, I reserve the creative right to adjust the design as needed. Sometimes a digital design does not translate as well onto a cookie. Colors on the cookie design may vary slightly from the actual product. This is due to differences in screen and color settings on digital devices.
I do not use copyrighted images and logos in my cookie designs.
How are your cookies made?
Cookies are made in my home kitchen in small batches. I use the highest quality ingredients that I can source.
The ingredient list for the Vanilla Bean Sugar Cookie include: flour, sugar, baking powder, vanilla powder, eggs, butter, vanilla bean paste, vanilla extract, and salt.
The icing ingredient list includes: powdered sugar, meringue powder, corn syrup, vanilla extract, vanilla bean paste, salt, and gel food coloring.
Are you a licensed food provider?
44 Birch Bakery (Registration No. 20235559) operates under Minnesota’s Cottage Food Law and is registered with the Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA). Under the Minnesota Cottage Food Law, products produced by 44 Birch Bakery are homemade and not subject to state inspection. .
Cancellation & Refund Policy
No refund will be issued if an order is cancelled within 14 days of the delivery/pick-up date. I only issue a full refund if I have not started your order. A 75% refund will be issued if an order is cancelled after an order has been started, but before 14 days of the delivery/pick-up date. I consider the designing of each cookies set as part of my process. Orders are considered ‘started’ once I have sketched out your custom cookies order. If I am unable to fulfill an order, the customer will be issued a full refund.
If you are not completely satisfied with your order, please contact me immediately. Refunds will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
